Overview
Tallgrass is a neighborhood located in Topeka, Kansas, northwest of 29th Street and Urish Road. The Tallgrass Homeowners Association creates a sense of community, and neighborhood involvement is an important component of Tallgrass living. With involvement, comes a commitment to maintaining the neighborhood's value and desirability. Information on the community is available on this website along with covenants and rules.
Governance
The Tallgrass Homeowners Association is governed by the Kansas Uniform Common Interest Owners Bill of Rights Act and by a set of covenants and rules overseen by an elected board of directors. This seven-member volunteer board is composed of a president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and three directors: Building and Grounds, Communications, and Hospitality. Each is elected by homeowners to a one-year term which is renewable.
Board meetings are held monthly and open to any Tallgrass resident. Agendas are emailed to the community homeowners before each meeting. Minutes of the monthly meetings are also emailed to all THA members and posted on this website.
Tallgrass committees focus on certain organizational areas within the THA and are formed as needed. Currently, the following committees are in place:
1. Covenant Resolution Committee – chaired by the THA vice president
2. Hospitality Committee--chaired by the Hospitality Director
3. The Road Committee--chaired by the Building and Grounds Director
